Recreation Needs Study - my urban playground inner west

How you play in the Inner West ?

Inner West Council is researching the current and future recreation needs of the Inner West Council (IWC) area. Let us know what’s working well, what needs improving, and what’s required for the future.

This study will inform the development of Council policy and strategy to address existing needs and forecast for additional population and increasing densities as a result of new development.

Recreation in the Inner West

From picnics in the park to playing sport and everything in between.

Council defines recreation as a broad spectrum ranging from unstructured activities like picnics, walking the dog and playing in parks to organised sport and everything in between. Click the image below to download the spectrum.

What happens next

The feedback gathered will be published on this page in a Community Engagement report. This information and other research for the project will inform the Research on Recreation Needs in the Inner West Study, which will examine the current needs, future needs, and what’s required to meet these for the Inner West population. The draft Study will be publicly exhibited in mid-2018 and the community will be invited to provide feedback on the document to check we have got it right.
