Creating Our Inner West 2036

Help build a Community Strategic Plan for the future Inner West.

What is a Community Strategic Plan (CSP)?

  • a vision and plan for the whole community
  • sets goals for the future
  • informs long-term planning

Once complete, the CSP will guide all of Council’s plans, policies and budgets.


The process so far

More than 1700 community members helped to develop the Statement of Vision and Priorities from Sep-Nov 2016. An interim vision and six priorities emerged which Council is now inviting feedback on.

More than forty entries were received from young people, with 20 entrants winning a $50 voucher and a chance for their photos to appear in the new Inner West Community Strategic Plan.” See the winning photos

    Children at the Inner West Early Learning Centres were encouraged to express their opinions, choices and preferences on issues that impact their lives. The engagement included conversations, songs, drawings and a mapping of places children like to go in their local area. This information was analysed and organised into the areas of the Strategic Priorities and will feed into the development of the Creating Our Inner West 2036.

    Council's engagement team hosted a stall at Ashfield's Carnival of Cultures on 19 March 2017. Bilingual volunteers helped to ensure that all the Inner West community could participate in Creating Our Inner West 2036.
